About Osiligi Children Foundation

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The foundation was established in April of 2012 by Michael Medoth and it was named as “OSILIGI”…….Osiligi is a Maasai originated word which means HOPE.

The establishment of a Foundation that could bring hope and happiness to the poor children, orphans, vulnerable and the children who are living in difficult environment was a burning desire of Michael and his beloved wife Hedaya.  Also to ensure that, the children receives human parental care, essential basic needs i.e. food, shelter and clothes, education and everything to support them.

Initially, Osiligi started with two (2) children (Jonson and Shedrack) in Michael’s own house. Later Osiligi moved to a purpose built house with three bedrooms which accommodates nine (9) children.

In 2013 the construction of a new house started. The bigger house was built with nine (9) bedrooms, through the help from Hidden Heart Foundation from the USA. With many difficulties and challenges, the construction could not be completed on time, finally completed in 2016.

There was several stops in construction and progress was delayed due to difficulties. But the house was completed in 2016 with the physical and financial help from volunteers all over, may our Almighty keep blessing them all.

We are trying our best to take care of our kids, providing a home full of love, care, and compassion.  We teach them good morals with maximum spiritual care. Apart from school programs we also have evening programs within the Foundation.

We conduct evening tuitions for some subjects like Computer Studies and Mathematics. We also conduct evening devotion everyday, this is to shape them spiritually.

We also have celebrations, different learning programs (life skills and nutritional skills),physical exercise programs, sports and games within the Foundation. All these programs we believe to aid the children's health, academic performance, maintenance of their talents and keeping them happy….

They feel at home and they are on their way to becoming responsible citizens, ready to contribute to their local communities.

Currently,Osiligi cares 16 children,though the visions do not end there.Osiligi vision is to help more children with quality care and love without discrimination of any kind for the purpose of raising them and promoting their talent for building the nation and become self reliant in future.
